Is it possible to only allow text content within a member's signature? We're getting some members posting images inside their sig and it's getting distracting.
If you disallow HTML posting permissions, you should be able to take care of that. The permission is in Eve Personal permissions, and it's called "Allow HTML in posts". That also applies to the Signature and the Custom Member Title.

Hi Lori, thanks but I was hoping there's a way to distinguish between HTML in posting and HTML in signatures. We find that members post links and images in their signatures that violate our content policy (spamming, advertising, etc). If we disable HTML across the board then doesn't this mean they won't be able to post messages and link to other sites, format text, etc??
Your users can still use "UBB Code" which allows links, text formatting, etc. These are in all the little boxes across the top of the message body on the posting page.

Thanks Lori, but just so I understand you correctly, would disabling HTML prevent members from creating links in their signature? It doesn't sound like it since they use UBB code to create links, post images, etc.
The ability to ban HTML just keeps people from posting malicious code, really.
The best thing to do would be to post "please don't put stuff in your signature that violates the content policy. If you do, you will lose the right to have a signature." You can remove the signature from an individual, or you may choose to remove signatures from all, and only allow a certain group to use them.

Thanks Lori but I was hoping you wouldn't say that. Manually moderating thousands of members signatures isn't very realistic with only a few mods. If we disabled sigs than we'd have a revolt on our hands.
Guess what I just stumbled over, while looking for something else? In the Profile Settings of the Control Panel, at the bottom of the page, there are 2 checkboxes under "Signature Settings". One says "Allow UBBCode" and the other says "Allow UBBCode Images". If you uncheck both of those boxes, I'll bet your issue will be resolved.
I'm sorry I missed this before.

Thanks Lori. Found the settings you mentioned. If I understand you correctly then if I uncheck the option to "Allow UBBCode Images" then the member shouldn't be able to insert images via UBB into their sig. If that's the case then we're good to go!
Thanks for the digging on this one. My mods will be very pleased to hear the great news.
